Funny physics games to play with friends

The funniest moment of a game night is almost never planned. It’s a wobbly arm grabbing the wrong thing, a sofa stuck in a doorway or a car landing on a friend’s roof. These multiplayer games are built for exactly that.

What makes a physics game funny

Physics games are funny for the same reason slapstick is: you know what you meant to do, everyone saw what actually happened, and the gap between the two is the joke. The best ones give everyone the same clumsy tools and let the group take it from there.

We split this list by the kind of laughter your group is after:

  • Fight your friends: wobbly party brawlers where the goal is to throw each other off things.
  • Work together, badly: co-op jobs where teamwork is the goal and physics is the enemy.
  • Big group chaos: games with room for a whole friend group, from mini golf to a mountain of solid cars.

Player counts come from each game’s Steam store page, checked in October 2026, and we only quote a number when the store page states one. Full disclosure: we make one of the games on this list. If you would rather see co-op physics games sorted by type than by laughs, read our best co-op physics games guide.

Fight your friends

Gang Beasts

  • Online + local multiplayer
  • Party brawler
  • Boneloaf

A silly multiplayer party game with surly gelatinous characters, brutal slapstick fights and absurd, hazardous stages in the mean streets of Beef City. You fight local and online opponents in melee mode, or team up against the gangs of Beef City.

Why it’s here: It’s the purest version of the idea: nobody fights well, so everybody laughs.

Party Animals

  • Online + same screen
  • Party brawler
  • Recreate Games

Fight your friends as puppies, kittens and other fuzzy creatures, remotely or huddled together on the same screen, in a world run by a realistic physics engine. The store page also lists online co-op, for nights when you would rather team up.

Why it’s here: It’s the cutest way to throw a friend off a building, and the fuzzy animals make losing a lot easier to take.

Stick Fight: The Game

  • 2–4 players
  • Local or online
  • Landfall West

A physics-based couch and online fighting game in which you battle it out as stick figures. The store page lists 2 to 4 players in local or online multiplayer, with no single-player mode, 100 interactive levels and a level editor.

Why it’s here: Rounds are over in seconds, so it’s perfect for the "one more" stretch at the end of the night.

Heave Ho

  • Up to 4 players
  • Couch co-op + versus
  • Le Cartel Studio

A riotous party game for up to four players in couch co-op and versus play, or online with Steam Remote Play. You reach out, get a grip and swing to victory, or meet your messy end.

Why it’s here: Holding a friend’s hand over a bottomless pit is a trust exercise, and it usually fails.

Work together, badly

Moving Out 2

  • Solo or up to 4
  • Local + online co-op
  • SMG Studio

The sequel to the physics-based moving simulator: you pack up houses and ship out furniture, alone or with up to three friends, in local and online multiplayer with cross-platform play.

Why it’s here: Every job ends in an argument about who is holding which end of the sofa, and that is the whole point.

Totally Reliable Delivery Service

  • Up to 4 friends
  • Online + split-screen co-op
  • We’re Five Games

A ragdoll physics simulation about terrible package delivery couriers. You join up to four friends and use odd machinery, gadgets and vehicles to get packages to their destination.

Why it’s here: Its store page’s guarantee is "Delivery Attempted", and that is exactly the energy of a night with it.

Goat Simulator 3

  • Up to 4 players
  • Local + online co-op
  • Coffee Stain North

A sandbox farmyard experience in which you play as a goat. You can invite up to three friends in local or online co-op to create carnage as a team, or compete in mini-games.

Why it’s here: It’s chaos with no real goal, and the store page jokes that you might not be friends any more afterwards.

Human: Fall Flat

  • Solo or up to 8 online
  • Physics platformer
  • No Brakes Games

A light-hearted physics platformer set in floating dreamscapes, playable solo or with up to 8 players online. You grab, climb and carry with two floppy arms, and need each other to get a boulder onto a catapult or break through a wall.

Why it’s here: It’s the friendliest physics game for mixed groups, and it has the most room of anything in this section.

Big group chaos

Golf With Your Friends

  • Up to 12 players
  • Mini golf
  • Blacklight Interactive

Fast-paced, simultaneous mini golf for up to 12 players, on courses where nothing is out of bounds. Everyone plays the same hole at the same time.

Why it’s here: Twelve balls bouncing around one hole at once is guaranteed chaos, and anyone can play it.

Ultimate Chicken Horse

  • Up to 4 players
  • Online, local + cross-platform
  • Clever Endeavour Games

A party platformer in which you build the level as you play: everyone places traps and hazards to stop the others, then tries to reach the end without falling into their own. The store page says it is primarily a multiplayer game.

Why it’s here: The funniest moments are the traps that catch the person who placed them.

R.E.P.O.

  • Up to 6 online
  • Co-op horror
  • semiwork

An online co-op horror game for up to 6 players: extract valuable, fully physics-based objects with a physics-based grabbing tool, with proximity voice chat and monsters that also obey gravity. It’s in Early Access on Steam.

Why it’s here: It’s a horror game, but carrying a fragile vase down a dark corridor with five friends shouting advice is mostly comedy.

Drive UP: Together

  • 1–8 players online
  • Windows PC (Steam)
  • Early Access
  • Free demo

A co-op climbing game built on a proper driving simulation. Up to eight friends drive the same route up one mountain: planks barely wider than your axles, near-vertical ramps and the insides of giant pipes. Every meter is earned: one slip can cost you a lot of hard-won height.

Every car is a solid object, so the same controls let you be the bridge (park across a gap so a friend drives over you), the engine (push someone over a ledge no single car can clear) or the problem (tap a bumper one wheel from the summit).

Why it’s here: Eight solid cars on one narrow mountain is a physics comedy machine. Friends park across gaps as bridges, push each other up ramps, get wedged upside down in pipes and get "rescued" straight off the edge. It runs on real driving physics, so every crash is a believable one. Skip it if your group wants quick rounds: this is one long shared climb where every meter is earned.

Every car is solid, so "helping" and "landing on your friend" can look very similar.

How to plan a funny game night

  1. Start with something short. Stick Fight or Golf With Your Friends gets everyone laughing in the first five minutes.
  2. Alternate fighting and teamwork. After a few brawls in Gang Beasts or Party Animals, switch to Moving Out 2 or Human: Fall Flat so everyone is on the same side again.
  3. Match the game to the headcount. Four players fit most of this list. Five or six: R.E.P.O. Seven or more: Human: Fall Flat, Drive UP: Together or Golf With Your Friends. Our 8-player co-op guide has more.
  4. Record everything. The funniest moments last two seconds. Streaming and monetized videos of Drive UP: Together are welcome; see our creator page.
  5. End with a long one. A shared climb in Drive UP: Together is a good way to finish: the story of the night is usually who fell last.

Eight solid cars, one mountain

Drive UP: Together is out now in Steam Early Access for 1–8 players online. Try the free demo with your group and find out who causes the pile-up.

Golf With Your Friends lists up to 12 players. Human: Fall Flat and Drive UP: Together go up to 8 online, and R.E.P.O. up to 6.

Can I try Drive UP: Together for free?

There’s a free demo on Steam, so your group can try it before deciding.
