Best 8-player co-op games on PC

Most co-op games cap at four, so somebody always ends up watching the stream. These games let the whole group play at once.

How we picked

Every game here officially supports at least eight players online. We checked the official store listings and developer announcements, not just what fans say on forums. We left out games that only reach eight with mods. Player caps can change in updates, so check the store page before you buy for a group.

These aren’t all strictly co-op. Some are "friendly competitive" party games, the kind where eight people laugh together even though only one wins.

The list

Drive UP: Together

  • 1–8 players online
  • PC (Steam)
  • Early Access from Oct 27, 2026
  • Free demo

A co-op climbing game built on a proper driving simulation. Up to eight friends drive the same route up a mountain of planks barely wider than your axles, near-vertical ramps and the insides of giant pipes. There are no checkpoints: fall off and you start again from the bottom.

Every car is solid, so the same controls let you be the bridge (park across a gap so a friend drives over you), the engine (push someone over a ledge no single car can clear) or the problem (tap a bumper one wheel from the summit).

Why it's here: Eight is the number it was designed around: one lobby, one route up the mountain and eight solid cars. With that many players, the climb turns into traffic. You have bridges, pushes, pile-ups on narrow planks, and rescue missions when someone ends up wedged in a pipe.

Eight cars, one plank. This is what "co-op" looks like in Drive UP: Together.

Human: Fall Flat

  • Up to 8 online
  • PC, consoles
  • No Brakes Games

The wobbly-physics puzzle platformer added 8-player online multiplayer on Steam back in 2017 and later brought it to consoles. Lobbies let the host invite seven friends into the campaign.

Why it's here: It’s easy to learn, funny to watch and gentle enough for mixed-skill groups.

Pummel Party

  • Up to 8 online, 4 local
  • PC, consoles
  • Rebuilt Games

A board-game party brawler with minigames. It supports up to eight players online and can fill empty slots with bots.

Why it's here: It’s competitive, not co-op, but it was clearly designed for eight. Bots help when someone drops out.

Golf With Your Friends

  • Up to 12 online
  • PC, consoles
  • Team17 (publisher)

Mini golf with silly courses and power-ups. It supports up to twelve players online.

Why it's here: It’s the most relaxed game on the list. Turns are short, the rules are clear and anyone can play.

Gang Beasts

  • Up to 8 online (console listings)
  • PC, consoles
  • Boneloaf

Floppy, gelatinous brawlers trying to throw each other off moving platforms. The PlayStation Store listing gives up to eight online players. Local play is smaller.

Why it's here: It’s the classic party physics brawler. Check the current lobby limit for your platform before planning a big night.

Pogostuck: Rage With Your Friends

  • Up to 16 per server
  • PC
  • Superku

An extremely hard pogo-stick climber in which everyone climbs the same mountain at once. The tethered mode connects 2–16 players with a rubber band.

Why it's here: It handles big groups well, but only if your friends enjoy suffering.

Great, but smaller lobbies

These come up in every "games to play with friends" thread, and they’re excellent. They just don’t fit a group of eight out of the box:

  • R.E.P.O. (Semiwork): physics-based co-op horror about hauling valuables to extraction. Up to 6 players.
  • Content Warning (Landfall): film your friends being scared and upload it for views. 2–4 players.
  • PEAK (Aggro Crab & Landfall): co-op mountain climbing. Up to 4 players.
  • Chained Together (Anegar Games): chained co-op climb out of hell. 1–4 players. See our games like Chained Together list.

If your group is usually five or six, R.E.P.O. is the standout. At seven or eight, pick from the main list above.

Got eight people? Get one mountain.

Drive UP: Together runs 1–8 player online lobbies through your Steam friends list. Getting started takes about a minute.

FAQ

What games can 8 friends play together on PC?

Some solid options are Human: Fall Flat (up to 8 online), Pummel Party (up to 8 online), Golf With Your Friends (up to 12 online) and Drive UP: Together (1–8 online). Pogostuck puts up to 16 players on a server.

Is there a co-op game for exactly 8 players?

Several games list exactly eight as the online maximum: Human: Fall Flat, Pummel Party and Drive UP: Together.

What about R.E.P.O., Lethal Company or Content Warning?

These are great co-op games but smaller: R.E.P.O. supports up to six players and Content Warning is 2–4, so they don’t fit a full group of eight without mods.

Do 8-player games need dedicated servers?

Not usually. Most games on this list let one player host a lobby and invite friends through Steam.
